A Harry Styles Autograph Seeker admits, “I was out of line.” Read what happened, why the fan took the blame, and the latest details surrounding the incident.
The Harry Styles Autograph seeker at the center of it, a man who goes by Giovanni, has publicly taken responsibility for the confrontation. He says Harry stayed calm and he didn’t.
On Wednesday, October 21, Harry was walking through Manhattan’s Lower East Side on his way to Madison Square Garden for his show that night. Harry Styles Autograph seeker was following him down the street and kept doing it.
At some point, it looked like Harry had enough. Video obtained by TMZ shows him exchanging words with the man. The audio is unclear, so nobody outside that moment knows what was actually said.
TMZ’s headline said Harry “goes off” on a man asking for an autograph. That framing was always an interpretation, and the footage can’t confirm it.
Giovanni describes himself as the “world’s top autograph seeker.” He posts point-of-view videos of himself chasing celebrities around New York City. For him, the following-and-filming is the whole business.
That matters for how you read the clip. A person trailing someone on a sidewalk with a camera is going to look intense to bystanders, and being trailed all the way down a street would test anyone’s patience on a show day.
Giovanni reposted TMZ’s headline on Instagram and said it’s “not what happened.” He then wrote a longer statement saying he was the one who needed to cool down.
According to that post, Harry Styles Autograph seeker was having a bad day and was out of line, while Harry was “totally chill” and even helped calm him down. He says Harry has been a gentleman to him since 2012, when Harry first signed something for him. He closed by apologizing to Harry and saying he takes full responsibility.
Those are his words, and nothing else has come out yet. Neither Harry nor his team has commented on anything we’ve seen, so we only have one side of this.
It’s easy to read this as a cleanup statement, and maybe it is. But the more interesting detail is the 2012 history. If Giovanni’s account is accurate, this wasn’t a stranger ambushing a star. It was a regular who has crossed paths with Harry for over a decade, which would explain why the exchange ended with calming down instead of escalating.
This reads as a bad moment on a stressful day, followed by a decent correction. Plenty of people double down once a viral headline attaches to them. Giovanni did the opposite.
Short clips with no audio make bad evidence. If you shared the original headline, the update is worth passing along too. For now, the only account of what was said comes from the man who says he was in the wrong.
Harry has a show to get to, and Harry Styles Autograph seeker telling, he handled the street the way he’d handle a rough fan encounter: calmly, and then he moved on.

Discover how Ray Nicholson dealt with knee surgery while preparing for The Mosquito Bowl, including his recovery and the challenges of the role.
Ray Nicholson Knee Surgery is a heartbreak to the fans. Many are curious what happened to Ray Nicholson on the Mosquito Bowl Set. However, he later made a statement about his current health status to let the fans know.
Nicholson, 34, was shooting a scene with co-star Tom Francis at a rock quarry. He was running when he fell. Speaking to People at the AFI screening on Thursday, October 22, he said he “felt something a little weird.” It turned out to be his knee going numb.
He was wearing knee pads, so at first he figured he’d gotten off easy. Then he looked closer. “I saw that there was a hole, like a crater,” he said, adding that it looked like a divot in his knee.
The timing made it worse. The injury happened the day before the cast was due to film a scene Nicholson described as “maybe the most important scene in the movie.” He didn’t say which scene it was, and we don’t know yet. That will have to wait for the theatrical release.
“The next day, I had a full operation,” Nicholson said.
He underwent surgery to clean out his knee but he was back on set the day after the surgery, limping but working. The brief doesn’t say whether the production shuffled its schedule around him. What we do know is that he didn’t hold up the shoot.
Nicholson walked the AFI premiere at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles with Bill Skarsgård, Tom Francis, and Nicholas Galitzine. If you’ve followed these guys, it’s a fun lineup.
Nicholson is Jack Nicholson’s son and has been building his own horror-adjacent résumé, including Smile 2. Skarsgård is the guy who made Pennywise a nightmare. Galitzine has spent the last few years moving from romance leads toward bigger franchise territory.
Putting them in Marine uniforms on a football field is an interesting bit of casting.
Netflix’s logline: after Pearl Harbor, four of America’s top college football stars set aside their fame to enlist in the Marines. While preparing for the invasion of Okinawa, they play in a legendary game featuring some of the greatest players in history. For many of them, it will be the last game they ever play.
Sports war films work best when the action on the field carries real weight, this one has a weight to carry it. According to Nicholson, the quarry scene is the most crucial moment of the film which suggests that the team wants to give it that kind of impact. Whether it lands is a question for opening weekend.
The film opens in theaters on October 30 and arrives on Netflix on November 25. That’s a four-week gap, so you can see it on the big screen first or wait for streaming.
If war dramas are your thing, or you just want to see what a quarry scene is worth after a surgery-eve injury, the theater is the way to go. Watching the film with Nicholson’s story in mind might make you wonder whether you can spot the limp.
